Healthplex Associates is the nation’s leading consulting firm for Hospitals, Health Systems, Universities and other medical and healthcare professionals who seek to create unique wellness, fitness and ambulatory care centers to promote a healthy lifestyle in their community.
Company History
While Healthplex Associates was originally formed to develop, own and operate the Healthplex Sports Club in Springfield, it has quickly grown to include consulting, development, turn-around and management services to other hospitals and health care systems. Having gathered together a world class staff of healthcare and fitness experts to operate the Healthplex Sports Club, the company had amassed resources which could be used to assist others. By 1996, many healthcare systems and hospitals had begun to request information and assistance in developing their own medically based fitness centers for their communities. Our combined staff has now served over 300 clients ranging from large hospitals to smaller, community based rural hospitals. We work exclusively with health systems and hospitals committed to a vision of integrated healthcare delivery.
Given this record of successful growth, in early 2005 the company recognized that as a wholly owned subsidiary of a locally oriented, not-for-profit healthcare system, it had reached a point where it had “outgrown” its parent. Therefore, with the support and assistance of CKHS, the company was sold to a group of experienced healthcare investors who could not only provide the capital it needed for expansion but would bring additional expertise as well as a more national focus to the business.
